A little less than two months for the first time I spoke to the arrival of Google Panda. Since then many sites have suffered from the clutches of this cute animal plummeting on the results of major search engine.

Others, however, have seen their website content pages and climbing posts and multiply your web traffic.

What makes some places rise and others fall since the arrival of Panda? Why Google loves me or hate me?

Panda The test may be the answer. Only 8 + 3 questions. I encourage you to do right now.

Before some important facts. . .

When the Panda began to walk
On February 24, 2011 Google Panda began his crusade to improve the quality and relevance of the results people get from their searches. However, this algorithm update was not for everyone.

Panda came only for searches in English.

Tests and adjustments were made and the big day finally arrived. On August 12 Panda came to other languages ??(except Chinese, Japanese and Korean). Yes, Panda has reached the Spanish search and its effects were not long in coming.

From Google, we say the changes have had a clear positive effect on the quality of the results and, therefore, have received good feedback from people.

Quality sites and get more traffic up and down low-quality sites and no longer visited. This is the aim of Panda and now it seems that he is getting.

The panda test: Is my website quality?
We have said that the primary objective of the upgrade is to improve the positioning Panda web sites (and their pages) that are lower quality and positioning of web sites (and their pages) that are of poor quality. As a result, we get our Google queries most relevant results.

The problem: what is quality? That part is subjective. Each will defend their work to the hilt.

For this questionnaire is really a valuable source of information needs to be placed at least 20 people, preferably not know the web page being analyzed.

The questionnaire was divided into two parts, one for the domain and the other for your pages. The proposed responses to each question are “yes”, “no” or “do not know.”

For the domain

1. Would you give this website the details of your credit card?

2. Do you trust the information on this site?

3. Do you think this website is a leader in your field?

For pages

After each question is put a link to any page of the website. The person on the basis of what you see “yes”, “no” or “do not know.”

Respond if you have an immediate impression or take your time to look at the site.

1. Would you trust the information presented here?

2. Is this article written by an expert?

3. Does this article obvious errors?

4. Is the content or information in this article is original? [In the sense that there is a copy or remake]

5. Does Article intelligent analysis?

6. Would you consider adding this page to your bookmarks (favorites) or you share on social networks?

7. Is there too much advertising on this page?

8. Is it reasonable to view this article in a magazine or a newspaper?

Now pass this test yourself. Although if you really want to have objective data I recommend you send this test to 20 people. The first for the domain and the second page of your website (below each question adds a link to any page on your website).

This test helps you see your website through the eyes of Google, especially if other people do and not yourself.

Is your quality website? Does Google love me or hate me? Now you know.

You have time to remedy it but the sooner you make changes previously reflected in the results pages.

5 Advantages of using Facebook in your blog Comments
1. No more anonymous comments and spam: With WordPress comments no need to discuss who share their real identity with the world. 3 Disadvantages of using Facebook Comments
1. Facebook Comments Comments do not affect the SEO of your blog: It depends on how you look can be bad and good together. I mean, if you receive comments text with keywords related to the theme of your post and these comments are indexed in Google (like WordPress comments) then you can capture views of Google and maybe even better a position in the Google rankings for certain key phrases.

With Facebook Comments this is not possible because the text of the comments are not indexed in Google. This can also be good because most poorly optimized text can be counterproductive when it comes to positioning your post for a particular key phrase.

2. Comments belong to you but to Facebook: Although the comments appear on your blog are not your property but on Facebook. Any changes you choose to implement Facebook and affecting those comments be without you, blog owner, can do anything about it. Comments are hosted on Facebook’s servers and not yours.

3. Not everyone wants to discuss with your real identity: There are still people who prefer anonymity on the Internet. I respect myself because I did so many years. Not all live in our personal brand, so there may be people who do not favor having to discuss with your true identity. Before you had the option of using Facebook as anonymous comment Comments. This is no longer possible today for a change introduced by Facebook. Conclusion, if you just allow your readers to comment with Facebook Comments can stop receiving anonymous comments. How to integrate Facebook in your blog Comments

1. Download and install the WordPress plugin
First of all we need a WordPress plugin. There are several plugins that make the role but I advise you that in my opinion is the best and the one I use. It’s called Facebook Comments for WordPress. Follow the link and download it as I show in the picture.

Now you install it on WordPress. If you can not install plugins in WordPress see how it does in the picture below.

2. Create the Facebook application
That done we now need to create and activate an application on Facebook. Enter the Facebook plugin for WordPress Comments and see how just under the title “Basic Settings” Application ask us for ID or identification of the application (combination of numbers) and the Application Secret or secret code of the application (combination of letters and numbers). Without these two codes can not run on our Facebook Blog Comments.

To get them we have to create an app. Facebook. Once you have created will give us these two codes, copy and paste in their respective fields, we give “update options” and Facebook is already operating Comments on our blog.

How to create a Facebook application
Before we get those two codes to create a Facebook app. This is a link that will be sent to the Facebook Page or Application follows that of the Facebook Developer Page. Once there you give to “create a new application.”

Important: If you have never created an app. Facebook, when you give the button will jump you to a new window asking you to verify your account. They give you two options for this, using your mobile phone using your credit card. Unfortunately, if you’re in Spain (like me) you may not bring up your country to place your mobile. Now it’s time to fill in the fields that Facebook asks you to complete the process of creating the app. Fill in the tab “About” as appropriate in your case. Now click on the tab “Web site” and put the URL of your blog and if you want, also put your domain name (in my case would davidcantone.com). If you put your domain name will also be able to use the same identification of your application for any subdomain of your domain. Now hit “save changes”.

You can see how here and give you the 2 codes we need, but it is necessary to work in your blog Facebook Comments you tell the URL of the web page that has been to integrate Facebook.

Copy and paste the codes in “Basic Settings” page of options for WordPress plugin Facebook Comments.

Success! If you followed the above steps correctly in the beginning and would have to be running on your Facebook Comments blog.

FB WordPress Comments + Comments

Despite Facebook Comments made in your blog you can continue to keep the comments already have and are sent directly from the box of WordPress. I have enabled myself to comment on the box also Facebook and WordPress (at least at the time of writing this post). If instead you want from now on can only comment on your blog using Facebook Comments then go to “settings”, “discussion” and disable the option that says “Allow people to post comments on new articles” (allowing people to comment new items). Once the changes keep visiting your blog in principle and could only comment with the box on Facebook. I now keep the two because there are still many people who prefer to comment from WordPress.

I leave a picture under the settings I use now for the box of Facebook Comments. Set the width that best matches the design of your blog. Make sure you selected the option to “Check the Post comments to my facebook profile box by default”. This will default all comment and response is made to be shared on Facebook. Manually to comment, or you if you answer a comment, you can disable the comment is sent to Facebook. In that case only appear on the blog but do not share.

The A-List bloggers do not comment on other blogs, do not initiate conversations on Twitter, or go in search of people to make an interview (unless it’s with another A-List blogger). Why? Because you do not need, and have the loyalty of its audience and is already bulky enough to prove that their projects are very profitable. Why go out to look for others when they all come to you? It would be a waste of time that can not afford, so all they do is occasionally answer when someone mentioned in a post or a tweet.

Tipping Point

No doubt that comment and reply is much easier and more convenient to go in search of a good blog and then leave a comment on this value. The latter forces you to look for the blog, read your article, think and write a good comment. The comment has to be of value if you want to serve something. A main objective commentary the attention of those who read to drive traffic to your blog or blog administrator to know you. Once you reach the tipping point things will come shot. With hardly do anything and everything seems to work alone: ??more comments, more replies, more RTs, more likes more trackbacks, etc.. At this point and only have to worry about the content you post and weighty things as your projects or collaborations with other bloggers.

How to reach the tipping point

But if you begin to create momentum (gain speed with your blog) so that your commitment is to reduce or slow dry you know what will happen? Well, stop moving the wheel. Have missed this great opportunity to reach the tipping point and who knows whether to become an A-List blogger.

Getting to it is not easy. All A-List blogger has had to slog for good before they get where they are today. But all have one thing in common: when they identified that they were creating momentum rather than put a slow down gear.

The advice I give you if you want to reach the tipping point is: Once you are generating momentum (ie, when your blog grows day by day) you should tie your belt and put that up for more. Plug the nitrous and put the machine to 1000 revolutions per minute because the line is near. It is then the more you have to interact with your audience, that’s when you have to publish more articles and of good quality is when you have to break your horns commenting on other blogs, and that’s when you have to be more active than ever in your social networks. It means that you have to take hours and hours if you want to reach the tipping point. But once you get ready to enjoy the journey because they will all freeways.

How to know when you’ve reached the tipping point
It’s easy, you’ve reached the tipping point where all or any of the following are given:

No longer articles with the same frequency as you did before but you’re getting more or less the same huge amount of visits.
You do not answer any comment about lack of time but the comments you get do not stop growing.
And just respond to people you do RT but these are maintained or are increasing day by day.
You just do not you link to other blogs but instead you’re still getting a lot of trackbacks.
How to create momentum
Here is the crux of the matter. But momentum is no way to get to the point of inflection. I’m going to make it easy, momentum is created through hard work, quality, consistency and promotion.

But you see I am a good person I give you a more detailed list of things you can do to create momentum:

Many articles published at least four a week. The best days to do so are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Test yourself different days and check the results.
Post quality content. It undercuts your brand with shoddy goods. The articles need not be long if you want or can not. Can be short but always quality. Watch Seth Godin.
Go down to the trenches of the blogosphere and start leaving comments on blogs important value in your niche. Let The more comments the better. If your comment is the first best. Join a list of the times you posted on these blogs and the first to comment estate.
Be active on Twitter and Facebook. Make RTs of links that share your followers, leave comments of value in Facebook pages are bloggers in your niche, keep your active Facebook page, start many conversations as you can in Twitter, and many more.

Promote each and every one of the content you post.

Geotargeting briefly is the process of showing ads relevant to the origin of the visitor. I will provide you an example to show the importance of using it on your blogs.

Suppose a small Amazon products review blog gets 10,000 impressions monthly and here is the distributions of page impressions according to visitor originating country.

US : 5,500

UK : 3,000

France : 500

Germany : 500

Others : 500

Without geotargeting optimization, a UK visitor would see the banners and links to Amazon US website. Eventhough, some of these people click on Amazon.com affiliate links, this would bring you nothing. Zero. The reason is simple. Amazon US does not ship most products internationally and UK visitors would not buy from US because there is Amazon.co.uk for them.

Geotargeting Solution

In an optimized website, we should show Amazon.com links to US, Amazon.co.uk links to only UK visitors, Amazon.fr to France etc. This way, we will use every page impression beneficently.

So, it is the day to start a 50 articles product campaign on several technology items. I plant to write two hubs each day. I have made several searches for “invisible shield” keyword (A popular skin for electronic devices, especially best selling for iPhone) in Google Insights :

The first image shows the results from 2004 to present. Notice the big jump in 2008 when Zagg revealed Invisible Shield model for iPhone 3G. It was an obvious thing actually. The affiliates who were ready to promote new product earned lots of money. A basic scenario could be creating a mail list about iPhone 3G and sending emails to them reminding about the new skin release. Most would buy with closed eyes.

I was thinking that most searches would come from US. To my surprise, Hong Kong and Singapore was at the top. Since I don’t know their languages I don’t think I can get a benefit from this fact except empty information

And, look at the following graph of Top Searched and Rising Searches. You can target these top searched keywords in your blog review posts. All Rising Searches sections were a breakout for this keyword during this period.

Now, let’s look a bit closer for 2009 and US.

We have discovered the most active cities for this search. You could start a local blog targeting the top cities.

And what about the hot breakout keywords of 2009 worldwide and US

First, worldwide to take advantage of our Adsense ads on blog pages

Voowww, did you notice the +4950% breakout for “invisible shield 5800″? If you will look closely to this keyword you will notice that unusually Spain has dominated the ranks. So, what about making a fast one page Spanish affiliate site and grab the searches for Adwords campaign. You should further check in Google Adwords how many searches are being made for this keywords in Spain. I checked that it is mostly US for other keywords.

And finally, for US to sell them as an affiliate

The top keyword is “zagg discount code”. Zagg is the manufacturer company for this product.

If you join this data with the Google Adwords keywords to find the number of estimated searches for a month and Google Search Results to find competition, you will have most accurate predictions on what topic to invest your time and energy. Please note that it is just a very fast keyword trends hunting review. You should check more comprehensively than this.

As usual 5 nofollowed links don’t get any points. But, you lose these nofollowed points and remaining points are divided amongst following links. So, say bye bye to 50 points at first hand. Then remaining links get each 10 points. It means that, if you have a page with lots of links whether they are nofollowed or not, you lose!

   The direct implication of this behaviour that a page with less links are better. We can naturally ask this. Should I close the comments at all because they will eat my rankings? There is no clear answer from Matt yet about it. I will inform you about incoming feedbacks from him.

6. Using NoFollow on Privacy Policy, About Us pages etc : Matt clearly says in comments that we should not use nofollow on any of internal pages including these. Shock answer to many SEO fans.
7. Using NoFollow on Amazon Affiliate links : I didn’t answer still a clear answer on this eventhough, there are much questions. We will keep on asking I actually apply half of these links with nofollow to keep looking them natural.
